Those in the San Francisco Bay area who aren't going to be in Sacramento for
the entire weekend may be interested in knowing that my new band, the
Zinfandel Stompers, will be playing on Monday, May 26 at Solis Winery in
Gilroy, CA.
Here are details on the event, adapted from the email that the winery sent
out to its email mailing list"
This event showcases the multiple award-willing Solis Syrah in a picnic
setting. We'll have picnic tables set up on the lawn on both sides of the
tasting room, for exclusive use by event participants.
Our chef and tasting room manager, Richard Arioto, will be preparing grilled
sausage sandwiches with a side dish of macaroni salad.
Purchase a bottle of Solis Syrah and receive up to 2 free sausage
sandwiches, with macaroni salad (one free sandwich per person, with a
maximum of 2 sandwiches)!
If you happen to prefer white or rose wine over red, the above also applies
with the purchase of a bottle of Solis Fiano, an Italian white varietal, or
Vino Roseo, a slightly sweet wine made from Sangiovese grapes.
Additional sandwiches, with macaroni salad will be available for purchase at
$5.00 each ($3.00 for Solis Winery's Wine Club Members).
The event begins at 12:00 Noon and will end at 4:30 PM, with the tasting
room remaining open until 5:00 PM for you to make your selections and
purchases. The Zinfandel Stompers will play on the lawn from 12:30 PM to
4:30 PM. Players include Tom Brozene (cornet), Rick Siverson (reeds), John
Soulis (trombone), Bill Armstrong (banjo) and Jim O'Briant (tuba & leader).
The weather forecast for Monday in Gilroy is "partly cloudy with a high of
72 degrees," so that's ideal weather for sipping a glass of wine and
listening to OKOM.
