I hope it's Ok to post this to the list. My friend Larry Wright is selling
some of his drums and I thought maybe someone here might be interested.
Jazz Hugs
Judie
1920s drum set - $350 (Lovettsville, VA)
Ludwig snare drum 15" dia x 5.5" deep; Bass drum 26" dia x 14" deep; little
mini tom 7" dia; specialty tom drum 16" dia x 5.5" deep; 6.5" chinese temple
block; Leedy bass pedal and snare stand. The snare, mini tom, and bass drums
have calfskin heads (the snare side head is broken).
Collector's brass snare drum - $220 (Lovettsville)
This is a brass and iron snare drum 11" dia x 4" deep with calfskin heads,
and gut snares. It might have come off of a self-playing orchestrion, perhaps
from the 1900-1920 era, but there is a ring apparently used to support the
drum, so who knows? It obviously originally had a gut snare on each head, but
the snare and hook for one is missing (probably not too hard to fabricate the
hook). There is no brand name.
Slingerland parade drum - $75 (Lovettsville, VA)
1940s or 1950s Slingerland parade drum, 14" dia x 10" deep, gut snares, gold
and black duco paint finish. Both calfskin heads are broken, but includes
two plastic snare drum heads. Also includes a canvas carrying bag.
