[Dixielandjazz] The other shoe drops?

I note that the 2nd annual "Jazz Improv Live" convention and festival  
is planned for January 2009 in NYC. Is this, or was this a competitor  
to IAJE? Is there more to the story?

Their first Convention/Festival was a roaring success. It featured  
some real heavy hitter jazz performers, and breakout work sessions.  
Hmmm.

Note that they claim to be getting all sorts of inquiries from jazz  
educators to attend etc., yet also say they have no plans to fill the  
void left by IAJE.
