[Dixielandjazz] Franz Jackson

I recieved word from Franz Jackson's Daughter, Michelle Jewell, that Franz had passed away early yesterday morning.  A Memorial Service will be held later in May, details to be announced.
   
  Franz had broken his hip recently and survived the operation.  Then he went down hill from there.  Very sad news, a giant  player that lived and played thru much of OKOM history.
   
  A 95th Birthday Celebration was held for Franz last November 4th in his home town of Dowagiac Michigan.  It was an afternoon filled with OKOM, photos, and tributes to Franz.  Judy K was there and many other local and Chicago musicians.  It was a wonderful tribute to Franz while he was still with us.
