The April-May Hot Jazz Channel internet radio show is now live having been
delayed by an unprecedented spam e-mail attack.
Early one morning in the fourth week of April the site was crashed by the
arrival of over 100,000 emails in its listener's letters area. The emails
came from a so-far unidentified site which was using the Hot Jazz Channel
site as a "bounce" point for "spam" advertising.
Now site designer John Booth has cleared the problem enabling the latest
show to be heard. Despite being off the air for several days dealing with
the problem the March-April show was heard by 79,000 listeners.
There are twelve new tracks in the latest show. San Antonio's Jim Cullum
Band kick things off and they are followed by the Millennium Eagle Band,
Billie & De De Pierce, Ken Colyer's All-Stars, the El Dorado Jazz Band with
Frank "Big Boy" Goudie, George Huxley's All-Stars, Sister Rosetta Tharpe
with the Chris Barber Band, the Circus Square Jazz Band, Big Bill
Bissonnette's Easy Riders Band, Desbundixie, Wendell Brunious with the Dave
Donohoe Band and the French Preservation New Orleans Jazz Band. CDs from
which these tracks are taken are all reviewed within the editorial pages of
the web site.
Hot Jazz Channel radio shows are devised and presented by Brian Harvey and
engineered by John Booth.
