Well next Wednesday at 8 pm central on the C&W network (cable, Local channel 11) the reality series the Farmer wants a Wife will have it's grand Finale and you will get to see what a group of pretty good musicians will do for $150 apiece.
I will be playing tenor in the marching band and believe it or not the rest of the band with a couple of exceptions are some of the better St. Louis Players. The kid standing next to me in the back is 14 and is an incredible player. The guy playing Bass Drum is a very cool bass player.
We are playing the dumbest tune ever written - over and over and over again. The tune was written specially for the show. No doubt by a freshmen music drop out. I can't believe that they didn't just have us fake a Dixie Farmer in the Dell which might have been cool. This whole piece of nonsense took about 2 1/2 hours mostly standing on rough ground. My back was killing me.
The scenario of the show is this farmer dude can't get away from the farm to meet chicks. The farm appears to be absolutely out in the middle of nowhere. NOT! - 3 minutes from down town St. Charles, less than 15 minutes away from two mega casinos and about 30 minutes from down town St. Louis. It is a cool farm though. Probably under water now since the river is up.
If anyone has watched the series you will understand when I say they must have picked up the girls on some corner somewhere although the last two are pretty and have nice bods.
The coolest thing about the show was the 150 clams we got.
