Dear Mr. Howard,

In reference to your request for free music, below, let me say:

As a professional musician, I am insulted by your request for a band to play
for your event for free.

I'll bet there is plenty of money in your budget for other promotions such
as fireworks, radio advertisement, etc.

Let me ask you:

Does the baseball team ask you to work for free?

Do the players work for free?

Do your ticket takers work for free?

Do your grounds keepers work for free?

Do you not pay for radio advertisement?

I think both you and I know the answer to these questions. Thus, why would
you expect, or even ask, any decent, professional musician to work for free?

Do you value the talent of a professional musician to be below the talent of
a ticket taker?

You should be ashamed of yourself.
