[Dixielandjazz] Ross Gintile

A friend, and band leader Gary Dammer sent me this.

I don't know if anyone on the list knows or knows of Ross Gintile.  Ross is a DJ on our local Jazz station that is sponsored by Southern Illinois University.  Ross has been a friend of Jazz forever and has MC'd many jazz gigs that I have been on.

Thought you might want to know. Ross was admitted to the hospital last night. He's at St Elizabeth's in Belleville, Illinois, Room 531. He called me earlier last night to tell me that his leg was swollen and red and that he had a lot of pain. His sister called this morning to say that he has a drug resistant staff infection and that they are
going to do a Doppler test to see if he has a blood clot. It does not sound good. That's all I know at this time. Will keep you posted.

Talked to Ross this morning. Thankfully, the test for the staff infection came back "Normal" no infection. However, they have him on morphine and a antibiotic drip. They are going to do the Doppler test this afternoon.  Ross said that he will be in the hospital for a few more days. Scott and Lisa Vignassi paid him a visit. He's in room 531 at St. Elizabeth's in Belleville Il. The phone no. is 618-234-2120
