start a restaurant) having been with it from May 1954 and was replaced by 
Graham Burbridge who came in from the Sandy Brown band. Mr Burbridge was 
with Chris Barber until June 1976, then retired
musically.

A small correction: Graham's surname was BURBIDGE, not Burbridge. The same 
mistake is made in John Chilton's "Who's Who of British Jazz". Graham died 5 
years ago, just when he was thinking about starting drumming again.
