between them - 1) Audacity (freeware) 2) Goldwave (inexpensive but
great) both easy to use.

File editing software for Midi, plus audio - Power Tracks Pro from
PG Music - very inexpensive for what you get and easy to use.

I use Goldwave on a laptop with a Sony ECM-MS907 condenser mic -
works great.
