The below transpired Sunday in the US (Monday in OZ). One never knows
where a gig may originate. It pays to be visible as a party band for
young people. <grin>

Hi Steve,

I am planning a 40th birthday party for my wife and she would really
like a live Jazz band. It’s on May the 3rd, Saturday evening. I’m
looking at holding the event at either the Windsor or the Rydges
Backlot (the old Bobby McGees, my preference) with about 80 people.

Are you available and what are your rates?

Thanks,

Hi Again Steve

I just realised, I don’t think you’re anywhere near Melbourne!

Hi _______:

Funny thing, I was just going to ask you if you meant Rydges Backlot
in Melbourne Australia. I am in Philadelphia USA as you probably just
found out.

I can recommend a good jazz band near you. They are the New Melbourne
Jazz Band, see website below.

My mate, Ross Anderson is their leader. He is a great guy and they
are a wonderful band.

Thanks Steve,

I’ve already sent Ross an email...
