If it IS small stuff, absolutely right (er - correct).
The only problem is that language is how we form and transmit thoughts on
any level more sophisticated than "Me hungry, me eat" or lascivious grunts
which transmit the message "Me got hots for you, me want bash you on head
and make babies." Imprecise use of language, except when intentional for a
desired effect, indicates imprecise thinking. This may be no longer
important in writing song lyrics, but I think Berlin and Porter might
disagree. Which, of course, tells you how I regard most (not all) modern
"songs."
Anyway, I suggest we put this hobby horse in the barn for a rest. We are not
going to solve the problems of mass (bad) education here.
