Just back from the Bechet Project show in Jaffa. Wow! What a
wonderful performace!
I heard the band before, at the Jazz Alley (The Alley Theatre) in old
Jaffa. It was good enough, but not as good as tonight. There are
several good reasons: they had more rehearsal time, their excellent
bassist was not frozen (at the Blues Alley the air conditioner was
blowing right on his hands), and tonight they had Jacques Sany (one of
the foremost Bechet school soprano players in the world today) instead
of their regular - much younger, bob drenched soprano player.
A lovely performance.
Cheers.
SYPPORT LIVE JAZZ!
