The BG Story brings back memories!
I saw it within days of arriving in Israel (I did not even know how to
ask for tickets, but, lickily, the person in the box office spoke
Polish), and I thought "What a great country, with films like taht and
all those jazz records in stores!"
BTW, I have a friend from Morocco, who was introduced to jazz by that
film as a kid, and is still a jazz fan.
Did you folks notice that in Gene Krupa Story there some discrepancies
between the film and the music, like when Sal Mineo throws his sticks
in the air, byt you can hear the snare? My (jazz hating) parents took
me to see it when I matriculated in 1960.
Cheers
