[Dixielandjazz] Movie "It's TRAD, DAD"

I'm afraid that, if indeed was April 8, today is too late. Anyway, I
haven't got access to TCM - pity, but, due to a financial dispute
between the Israeli cable company HOT and TCM, the broadcasting of TCM
has been discontinued. It is available on satellite, but it is a
different supplier.
I saw the film years ago, and was rather disappointed, despite some
jazz. I wonder how I'd feel ablut it now. There is a very
entertaining scene with, I believe, Chubby Checker, of all people, and
twist dancing.
Nevertheless, there is some British "Trad," but, unfortunately, not
the best of it, even if it features Acker Bilk, Chris Barber and, if I
remember correctly, Kenny Ball. I would nevertheless like to see it
again, were it available.
BTW, in the 1950's there was a British film "It's Great to Be Young,"
featuring Humphrey Lyttelton in the first third of the film (in those
old reel days, it was the first reel). Now THAT was excellent jazz,
well worth seeking.
Cheers,
Marek

> Hi Listees, FYI there will be a movie on Turner Classic Movies next Tuesday April 8th at 4:45 pm EDST here in USA. "It's TRAD DAD" Released in 1961 and has Acker Bilk in the cast. Assume it was about the Trad revival in England about that time. Does anyone remember it and is it worth watching. I am going to set my VCR to catch it in any event. If this is an English film, I hope the do better than Hollywood with a jazz oriented movie.
