Thanks, Bill, for mentioning Plas Johnson. I have an early LP of him 
doing bop and tasteful ballads. Beautiful technique and feeling. There's 
a bio at http://www.answers.com/topic/plas-johnson?cat=entertainment, 
which doesn't mention that he played with Linda Rohnstadt on her 
standards recordings, and was on some of the Concord Jazz group sides.
