[Dixielandjazz] Tuba Mic,

I have used similar small mics for my tubas in the past - some work
pretty well, but they mostly are fragile. Right now I use a Shure SM
57. I made a 3-way nylon strap that suspends the mic in the center of
the bell with stuff I found in camping/surplus stores. It is
adjustable for various bell sizes.

A friend made one for his tuba using a lavaliere mic and 3 of the
smallest bungee cords he could find and a machined bit of plastic to
hold them all together at the center (he is a tool and die maker for
his day job, but it was a pretty simple thing to make.)
