GHOTIO
By following the rules, or lack of them, in the English language, what does
the above spell?
Why FISH, of course.
GH as in "Enough" for the F sound
O as in "Women" for the I sound.
TIO as in "Motion" for the SH sound.
Thus GHOTIO is an alternate way to spell FISH.
You could also substitute CH as in machine, for the TIO to get the SH sound.
So GHOCH also spells FISH. <grin>
English is a difficult language and Jazz is similar. Some understand and
appreciate the alternates or nuances and some don't. <grin>
Perhaps the main thing is not to foolishly think that what we personally
opine about jazz is the only truth. And for a fan to insult accomplished
musicians because that fan doesn't like the way they play is equally absurd.
What, Miles not Jazz? Good Golly Miss Molly, the man had more Louis in his
playing than most trumpet players. Etc., etc. But that still doesn't mean
one has to like the way he played it. <grin>
Cheers,
Steve Barbone
