Very refreshing idea. In around 30 years of sound mixing at festivals, I am
not sure I ever had that happen!

That's only because we've don't play those festivals, Dog!  :>  
I always introduce myself & give a quick brief as to what the band needs.
That is preceded by a phone discussion a week before, and the sending of a
stage drawing & requirements sheet before the phone call.
