Hello all

Nobody seems to have responded to Colin Toomer's enquiry about a Rudy
Vallée send up of "Barnacle Bill". I'm far from being a Rudy Vallée
authority but I can offer a suggestion.

The CD that Colin is thinking-of could be an ASV compilation called
"Beat the band to the bar" - an interesting collection of send-ups and
in-jokes among band musicians. It includes the Carmichael/Venuti
"Barnacle Bill". It also includes the very funny break-down version of
Vallée's 1934 "Drunkard song (There is a tavern in the town)".

Colin, could you have concatenated these two performances?

The CD also includes the strange "Ol' man Mose" by Eddy Duchin & His
Orchestra. More of that later :-)

All the best,
Anton
