Dear Marek:

Your opinion is fine, I respect it and have no quarrel with it.

If you read the original post, you would realize that my mention of modern
jazzers in it was incidental, merely used as a comparison between them, and
what jazz was originally. I think you totally missed the point.

My response was to a personal attack by a guy who seems to fear what he
doesn't understand. It was he who brought up Coltrane and the rest of the
drillers. Point being, like what you like, dislike what you dislike. What I
object to is irrational comments about what folks personally do not like and
subsequent accusations those who may like it, do not know what "jazz truth"
is. In other words, if I get attacked by a narrow minded fan, I will
respond. That includes talking about where my views on jazz come from.
(Frequently from the original sources mentioned)

And please stop trying to be a self appointed list policeman, that's Bob
Ringwald's job. He doesn't need any help since he does it quite well, though
he gets little thanks.

If you want to discuss the full post, rather than the brief snippet you
chose out of context above, please write me off list.

Cheers,
Steve Barbone
