Someone asked about OKOM in NYC on Wednesday, Oct 3.

Depending upon how adventurous your ears are, here is a program that might
interest you. probably swing even though Randy Brecker and Lew Tabackin are
on the gig. George Wein, besides being the guy who made jazz festivals in
the USA into major events, is a swing style pianist, and Howard Alden is a
fine OKOM guitarist.

And Jazz at Lincoln Center, any venue, is an experience that should not be
missed.

GEORGE WEIN AND THE NEWPORT ALL-STARS (Tuesday through Thursday) The man who
pioneered the jazz festival in America is a pretty able swing pianist and,
given a certain mood, a singer too. He appears in a band featuring the
trumpeter Randy Brecker, the saxophonist Lew Tabackin, the guitarist Howard
Alden, the bassist Peter Washington and the drummer Kenny Washington.
