Dear Marek:

Not so difficult to believe. Milton Bernhart was just one of the boys.
Kenton's Band was home for a while to some of the greatest players in Jazz
as well as some excellent musicians in general. IMHO, of course <grin>

Many of them were also cream of the crop studio musicians.

Just a few of the outstanding ones are/were.

Laurindo Almeida, Conte & Pete Candoli, June Christy, Maynard Ferguson
Carl Fontana, Bill Holman, Shelly Manne, Charlie Mariano, Gerry Mulligan
Art Pepper, Frank Rosolino, Bill Russo, Bud Shank, Mike Vax, Jiggs Wigham
Kai Winding, Stan Getz, Lee Konitz, Pete Rugolo, Bill Russo . . . et al as
the above are the ones that come readily to mind.

Yeah, they all know/knew how to play some of the most difficult charts in
big band music, as well as improvise.

Cheers,
Steve Barbone
