Dear Gerard,
I knew that you would come up with the answer.
Our band recorded the tune back in December 1973.
It was arranged by DJMLer Adrian Ford (our then pianist/trombonist and 
occasional clarinetist) as a clarinet trio for John McCarthy, Trevor 
Rippingale and himself.
We called it "Clarinet Stroodle' and the 'credit' was given as 
(Traditional, arranged Adrian Ford).
I hadn't known about the Kenny Ball version until now.
