Hi There - Dave Gannett here, just rejoined the list after many years'
absence.
In response to Craig's post saying he couldn't download the Black Dog
albums: I sent him two emails w/download urls and have tried
repeatedly to contact him, but his emails bounce back to me. I will
ALWAYS honor your purchases and do my level best to make certain you
are happy.
When I went to my server to check on the download status, I found that
someone or some group of people have stolen nearly 100 Black Dog
albums, perhaps by sharing the download urls with others or who knows
how? Folks, this is no different than if someone held me up on the
street and stole $1000 from me!
To forestall any more theft, I have deleted the Black Dog albums and
they are temporarily unavailable until I can make more secure
arrangements to protect my work. It is deeply disappointing to me
that there are those among us who are thieves and don't care or
understand that album sales are a critical element in how we support
our families. Apparently, those of you who have stolen these albums
like the music but despise the musicians, their efforts and their
rights to the music. And you wonder why "OKOM" is dwindling away?
If Craig is on line reading this: Craig, I will honor your downloads
as soon as I have secured a new server arrangement. Meanwhile, your
complaining to DJML shows a singular lack of courtesy and
understanding of business practices. You should have talked with ME.
I have always done business with integrity, sometimes to my detriment,
but with absolute commitment to treating others as I would like to be
treated. I will gladly refund your money if that is what you wish.
To a more pleasant subject: You will find listings of many
interesting Trad albums at http://www.tubagear.com, with more being
added on a regular basis. We will be upgrading our site in the next
month or so and adding new features. For those of you who are
tubists, you may wish to bookmark our site, as you'll find virtually
anything to do with tubas right there in one place.
Thanks are due to those of integrity who are the backbone of
Traditional Jazz. We sincerely appreciate your many years of support
and encouragement as we seek venues to play the music we love for
people who love it!
Davy Jones and I will be appearing at the '08 Bix festival with Davy's
new group, The Dixie Rovers. Come and see us if you're in the area!
Best Regards,
David Gannett
