promise.

As to Mahalia Jackson, she is actually one singer who (to my knowledge) did
not indulge in that kind of thing. If the song did not have a religious
connotation, I'm relatively sure she was not aware of it.

I think that referring to all these food-related songs (like ones about
jelly rolls, kitchen men, etc.) as double entendre is a bit far-fetched.

However, what I object to is songs that are directly sleazy. E.g. a certain
Ms Mahalia Jackson sang a song "Move On Up A Little Higher". Puhleeeeze!
