In my pickin' and grinnin' (actual sawin' and grinnin"--fiddle) days, I 
recall that during jam sessions, or pickin' parties, we had to play 
tunes all in a particular key, then move to another key, as the 5 string 
banjo players had to re-tune for each different key, and didn't want to 
do it after each selection if the next was in a different key.
