Indeed it WAS "Le Sacre du Printemps" that caused riots in the streets of 
Paris after its premier.  The ballet depiction of pagan fertility rites was 
just a little too much for the French.  So they fought each other, and the 
Russian immigrant Stravinsky, instead of the future wars...
