A couple of years ago I had a trio doing a private gig at a Casino at North 
Shore Tahoe.  As we were bringing in our equipment, someone from the 
hotel/casino told us the same thing.  Luckily the client who hired us, who 
owned a large computer company, got it fixed.  I don't know if he threatened 
to pull his party out or if he got us covered under his own business 
liability insurance.

That is the only time so far that I have run into this situation.

There was quite a discussion on this topic here on DJML a year or two ago. 
I am sure some listmates, especially Tom and Steve, will have plenty to say 
about this.
