Regarding the film short mentioned by listmate John Farrell;

Entry 1804 in David Meeker's 1977 book "Jazz in the Movies" lists this as
"Song Hits on Parade", a 1936 ten minute Paramount music short directed by
Fred Waller. A search on IMDB using various criteria proved fruitless. I
wonder who else noticed the caption used to introduce Bunny on his feature
"Until Today" had his name as BeRRigan ;-)

Entry 1248 in Meeker is "Mirrors" a 1934 nine minute Vitaphone music short.
Again, this is Freddie Rich with Bunny which can be found on IMDB at
http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0204487/

Altho' Bunny recorded his last commercial major label sides (under his own
name) for Victor on 28/11/39 there were, according to Rust, two further
sessions, ca Sept 41 & ca Jan 42, issued on the Philharmonic (US) and Elite
(Swiss) labels. However, he is heard on the soundtrack of the film
"Syncopation" (released May, 1942) ghosting for star Jackie Cooper. I've
also read somewhere that trumpeter George Thow did ghosting for the film too.
A third ghost was pianist Stan Wrightsman who did the piano work for the
film's female lead, Bonita Granville.
