[Dixielandjazz] FYI - Itunes problem

Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions on how to get my internet sound downloads to work.  Several months ago after installing Itunes I could no longer hear downloaded clips from my web site or any other.

I tried every suggestion and nothing worked.  This morning, giving it yet another try, I checked through the control panel stuff and a couple of other places to no avail, again.

Right below the control panel icon in the start menu is another icon which sets defaults for windows.  Since I have never had a problem I have never gone into this and I just never paid any attention to it before.  Upon clicking into this area there were four check boxes one of which was custom.  There is a flyout arrow on the right that I tried and a number of boxes again came up.  All checked with "use the current web browser - media player - whatever"

My thought was, what if no media player was actually selected.  If that was true then using the current one would be null.  So I checked the Media player box and closed it.  

Now everything works and defaults to the media player.

Apparently for some reason or another when I installed Itunes something got switched off.  I don't know how it happened but this is the fix should it happen to you.
