[Dixielandjazz] Advertising - What's good?

Lacking a gig for St. Patrick's day I decided to send out a mailing. My data base has about 85 entries. The cost to send out cost $31.45 plus about Ten cents for the contents (color laser print two sides plus a 1/3 page enclosure). That was four days ago and I got two calls one of whom is booking multiple gigs which I discount 10%. That seems to be a pretty good return on my investment but I would like to do better.

I also have a web site but that hasn't been a money maker so far except to refer people to for sound clips.

I was wondering if anyone else had an angle on advertising. In the past I have tried Yellow Pages, Newspapers and bridal shows which haven't been that impressive and are pretty expensive.

We don't do a lot of "public" events which tends to cramp us a little so far as word of mouth or people seeing and hiring us.
