Hello all,

The website has been updated with items of great historical interest to
devotees of King Oliver, Jimmy Yancey and J. Lawrence Cook.

Peter Hanley sends a superb essay on King (Joseph Nathran) Oliver. This
accompanies Oliver's WWI draft registration card.

International jazz pianist Butch Thompson sends an excellent essay on Jimmy
(James Edward) Yancey. This accompanies Yancey's WWI draft registration
card.

Canadian mechanical music collector Ken Vinen sends rare correspondence,
rate cards and catalogue lists for 65-note Rewind Electric Pianos of J.
Lawrence Cook, who set up a business on his own in the 1950s as the
"Perforated Music Roll Specialist". I will be adding more items from Ken
in the near future.

The above items can be accessed from the grey UPDATED BOX at:

http://www.doctorjazz.co.uk/

Hope you enjoy the above contributions from my team of top-class jazz
researchers.

Future articles and WWI draft registration cards will include : Antoine
Charles Elgar, Tommy Ladnier, Fletcher Hamilton Henderson Jr., Emile J.
Christian, Paul Adolph Barbarin and Horace Eubanks.

Musically yours

Mike.
