The below web site has a song listing of popular songs from the 1860 on. It
is just a song list and does not indicate whether or not they were recorded.

http://nfo.net/usa/melodya.html

Also, the below site lists over 2000 jazz (or jazzy) songs from 1917 to 1960
that made the top 100 on the Billboard Charts. Those were recorded and
Membran offers 100 CDs with all of them, or individual smaller CD sets by
era. E.G. Set 1 is 1917 to 1921 or something like that.

You will have to search the site under "jazz" to see the list and may have
to contact Membran directly to get the list by year.

Or Bill Haesler or Ed Metz Sr., may have more information about Membran and
how to access their list sorted by year.

If anyone wants to see the list sorted Alphabetically, write me directly and
I'll send a Microsoft Word Document you can read and/or print.

Cheers, and Good Hunting,
Steve Barbone
