Subject: [Dixielandjazz] Fwd: Mora's Modern Rhythmists

...How come this long-established Los Angeles orchestra
(specialising in 20s-30s pre-Swing music) wasn't mentioned
by someone when I had my earlier 'cartoon music' spat
with my mate Steve Barbone? Just kidding about the spat.
Make sure that you click on to listen to and watch ALL of the left hand
side links, including the Vitaphone, Technicolor and Main Menu. (For
some reason I couldn't access the Recordings link.)
There's a lot there to absorb.
Wonderful stuff and well worth the time.

Kind regards,

Thanks, Bill, for mentioning this.
Looks like the fans become part of the act (a time warp).

I had just done an ad for the Sweet & Hot Music Festival in Los Angeles
(Labor Day Wknd., Aug. 30 - Sept. 3) and noticed that Dean Mora's orchestra
was listed to play on Sunday night (Sept. 2) at a special event called "The
Vintage Ball." Anyone interested in seeing them, along with many other great
bands, should visit
http://www.sweethot.org/
For Sunday only (morning till midnight), a badge costs $45.
I will definitely check them out when I am there.

Love and hugs,
Nancy
