Oh my God, Jerry, this was a shock. Dave Remington was my closest friend
at
St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY where we started The Laurentians
big
band in 1948 and I played bass in combos with Dave. I haven't seen him
since
but have kept in contact and was thinking yesterday of flying over and
out
to Beulah, MI to see Dave again. Man, this one hits home. I'll call
Karen.
And of course write Dave's obit for Jersey Jazz, of which I'm
international
editor. Will you please forward this to Bud Taylor and anyone else
concerned. I'll Cc SLU classmates with this mail. Anyone who sees this:
Please let me know of obits that may be published and bios that may be
accessed. (Mr. McMurray: Anything in your SLU archives? Would you please
forward this to the Alumni Office? Thank you!)
