I'm much more a fan of early Louis than Bix but I do enjoy Bix. I think the
most telling description of Bix's playing came from Eddie Condon when he
said that the sound of Bix's tone was like a girl saying "yes".

Condon's description was cute and brings a smile, but it does nothing to describe Beiderbecke's SOUND, which Richard Sudhalter did so beautifully in his book on Bix (which I do not have at hand).

As I recall, Dick likened it onomatopoetically to a mallet striking a copper gong with as lovely a choice of words as Whit Balliett ever put together to depict a jazzman's sound. Obviously I have never forgotten it, and I wish I had it in front of me now.
