[Dixielandjazz] CDs for radio play

I do hope that other DJML-ers won't tar all OKOM "free" radio stations with
the same brush.
My programmes on The Hot Jazz Channel at www.radiojazz.co.uk  - relies on
CDs sent to us and on those I buy. A majority of those sent
to us by bands and record labels are broadcast within eight weeks and
returned to for further plays after some months.
We also review every CD in an on-line mini-magazine and these reviews are
available for twelve months.
The problems we have are that record labels both here (in the UK) and the
USA - with a few notable exceptions - are
reluctant to send us anything and very few even acknowledge requests for new
CDs despite us having a monthly audience
of getting on for 100,000.
But because we believe in the future of the music we'll continue to make the
programmes and air them - all at our own cost - that's just me and
my long-suffering  technical wizard-partner John Booth.
