[Dixielandjazz] Bill Gunter RIP

Bill wasn't feeling well in Logan, so he didn't play.  During the
washboard players' performances he sat in the front row of the audience
cheering the rest of us on.  People thought it might have been the heat. 
I suppose it was more.  Something like the heavenly chorus needing someone
who could play washboard and sing his kinds of tunes.

It was either Mike Johnson or Peter Babcock who pointed out to the
audience that Bill had started the washboard concert at Sacramento, from
which flowed other washboard concerts and the Logan festival.

The world has lost a wonderful entertainer and an inspiration to us all.

May the memory of him be a blessing to his family and to all who knew him.
