Dear friends,
Sorry about this test, but I am still curious.
DELETE NOW, if uninterested, but feeding it back through the DJML system
seemed to be the only way to check the phenomenon.
Replies should be OFF-LIST, as I don't want a big slap on the wrist from
Commissar Ringwald.

Below (Extract 1) is the first part of Ray Osnato's recent post (as it
arrived on my Mac running OSX 10.2.8 - Jaguar) with lots of seemingly
unrelated little squares.
Similar to those in some, but not all, of the DJML messages I receive from
Tom Wiggins.
Immediately under , I have repeated it (Extract 2) with the 'squares'
replaced by an asterisk *

Extract 1.
Steve makes some excellent points in his post on this thread. As with all
opinions and interpretations, I agree with most, take issue with some.
One
point on which I disagree I'd like to mention here very briefly.

I
make my living on the periphery of the jazz world. Some would say I am
right smack dab in the middle of it but I am by nature a modest fellow.
Much
of my daily bread is put on the table by many of these bop -- actually
neo-bop, or post-bop players.

Perhaps, Ray might help by checking his original to see if there was
anything else in these places. Maybe an unintentional additional keystroke.
Scott Anthony probably knows the answer and may care to explain it in
non-tech language.
Whatever it is, I can live with it.
It is just that I hate mysteries.
Kind regards,
Bill.
