A snickering veer off-current-topic, but this comment dredged up a hilarious memory.

In the late '80s, a bashing bio of one of the Beatles came out, causing much uproar (someone, I'm sure, can identify the Beatle and the author for us).  So, one night on Saturday Night Live, an alternative account of the Beatles' early days was shown, in which there was a 5th Beatle -- the bio author -- whose instrument was ......... trombone.  The Fab Four had to let him go, the result being a future disgruntled biographer.
