Email or any text for that matter originating on a Mac will sometimes look 
funny on a PC and vice-versa because the ASCII character set mappings (the 
number that codes for each character) are different for many of the 
characters, especially the punctuation characters and characters with values 
 > 127.

Does this make sense?
