Of course some will already know the story of the Piccolo player who comes
home one day to be greeted by the devastating sight of his home completely
burnt to the ground, and a pervasive stench of kerosine in the air.
Absolutely distraught, he is comforted by the fire chief and police
seargeant who tell him that they have already caught the culprit.
"But who would do such a terrible thing??"
"Well this guy turns out to be the conductor of the orchestra you play
for..."
Rubbing his eyes which are glazed with fresh tears he smiles faintly and
says softly, almost as if asking himself:
"The conductor... came to... my house?!"
