[Dixielandjazz] plastic sousaphones

These were (are) a real Godsend for school band musicians, especially the  
small kids. They are light weight, and  a lot easier to carry on the field  or 
street (except in a headwind)
 
Actually, only the bell and related piping are plastic. The valve assembly,  
. lead pipe and mouthpiece are metal, unless you live in Maine, where the  
mouthpieces are often plastic. No one wants their chops frozen to the  
mouthpiece--
