[Dixielandjazz] Tips for the piano

I would love to get some tips on how to improve my finger speed on the piano
where I could run up and down the keyboard.
For example, I can run chords up the keyboard like a harp (well kinda) but I
can't go down the keyboard.
I am visually impaired and that slows me down but if I can't see the keys at
all, I hit every key except for the key I want to hit.

Has anyone notice how difficult it is to go from playing solo and being able
to slow or speed up the tempo, depending on your mood, to accompanying a band?
I was used to playing the melody the way I wanted. Then when I play with a
band, I feel like a lost child trying to learn to play. Having the drummer
beating in my ear doesn't help.
Not one little bit!
Playing lead then switching to accompanying a band is a whole new world, to
say the least.

As far as speed goes, I would also love for someone to give me some tips on
how to play the trombone faster, yet clean and crisp.
I'm self mostly self taught on the trombone and can use any help that I can
get.
