Has anyone noticed that the Google search engine is yielding less and less
information of value, with an alarming increase in links to advertisers.
Fewer links to downloadable sites for sheet music, lyrics, jazz biogs,
articles and the like.

TO which I might point out. All the more reason to set up special
searches on you machine using
google's advance feature to search a specific site: e.g. the known sheet
music sites like musicnote.com or
specific download sites like musicmatch, or emusic etc.
Use my search page on mainely-jazz.com for examples of how to do this.
(Unfortunately I do NOT take the trouble to eliminate the ads.)
