[Dixielandjazz] Why some YouTube videos have disappeared

Dear Steve,
Thanks for that informative update on Janie's post.
It looks like the commercial vultures have again worked out a way to skim
even more money off the top of the internet.
Fighting each other!
But as it is costing them money, they will sort it out real soon, then pass
on the costs to mugs like us.
I also wonder how long it will take for 'them' to claim copyright to all
private jazz videos uploaded to YouTube (eg. Porténa, Vince Giordano,
Savannah Jazz Band, Hot Antic, Turk Murphy, etc.) as their property then
threaten to have them removed.
Or even better, charge everyone to upload to the YouTube site.
On another related tack.
Has anyone noticed that the Google search engine is yielding less and less
information of value, with an alarming increase in links to advertisers.
Fewer links to downloadable sites for sheet music, lyrics, jazz biogs,
articles and the like.
Or is it just my imagination?
I have been using Yahoo a lot more lately, as the size of its archive
increases, but suspect that it will not be long before it too adopts a 'user
pays' principle.
Regards,
Bill. Who wasn't born a cynic.
