I would add Don Neely's Royal Society Jazz Orchestra ( www.rsjo.com )
to this "Great re-creations and/or tribute Band" list. They have been
playing early Ellington, Whiteman and many other "Society" and "Small
Big Band" style charts, original and adapted since the mid 1970s.

Disclaimer - I have filled in on bass with the RSJO a few times, I
have played in other bands with many of the musicians in RSJO, and
they played at MY wedding!
