Are we sure the stylus is LP only? There was some attempt to make a universal stylus with a shallow conical tip, which rode on the edges of the groove, either standard or LP, and would play both. I figured that would be how they solved the compatibility problem without a dual- stylus cartridge. Bert Joss jaroberts at webtv.net
