And also, McCartney was rather fond of showtunes, probably influenced by his
older sister - don't forget that one of the first tunes the Beatles recorded
was "Til There Was You"

Many garage-band R&R bands in my area in the 60's COULDN'T copy the
Beatles - the chord progressions were too hard.
